Well Where to start? I have a lot to say...
So... We will start with the fourth of July...
The weekend was awesome. Kyle and I left from formation on Thursday night and drove the thirteen hours to get to St. Louis We took turns napping and driving. We arrived at one set of the grandparents around five thirty in the AM. Neither of us wanted to sleep so we ran around the back yard with the dogs. My older brother Jason was sleeping in a tent in the back so of course Kyle and I put the dogs in the tent with him just to mess with him, but he stayed dead asleep which was uneventful.he
We accidentally woke up my grandfather. Which was OK, because we ended up having a nice walk to the in town bakery. Which was nice to just hang out with him. So since Kyle and I weren't going to sleep we just hung out til everyone else woke up. Then it was off the gardens that was fun with Jason and Kyle. They really bonded, we fed fish that were bigger then Jax I would have been a little scared to loose a limb if something would have happened. Our goal was to get the food of the ducks back. It was really funny. I think Jason Did the best out of all of us.
Kyle and I had to leave the garden early and head south to see his father. It was a lovely time on the boat and dinner, but we were really tired. so it was off to bed really early for us. We had to be up early for a baptism for my little cousin. That was a really nice thing to go to. Kyle got a little more of what the Church is about. It made me feel good that Kyle has a better understanding of why we do what we do.
Then!!! it was GO KARTS!!! That was fun when it came to just dad Kyle and I. having the younger kids was fun don't get me wrong. but it is hard to get aggressive and play hard. (I beat Kyle and Dad FYI)
We had dinner at a Mexican place it was nice. Jessie,Andrew, Jen, Jeff, and Cain graced us with their presence( Cain is a Cutie, he is going to to be a ladies killer.)
Off to pictures at the grandparents house. We took pictures of our Soldiers (there were three) Of course you can't forget our Fire Fighter. My Uncle Shawn who is awesome. Wore his Uniform. They all looked Smashing. It was great, and Cain was blessed. It was a very cute blessing.
Kyle got to meet my great grandparents the next day it was nothing but funny and exciting. Kyle really liked them. They are always the happiest Elderly people I have ever met. What AWESOME people. :]
Monday we got Kyle's birthday present (basketball shoes) So he can play with the big guys) shortly after it was off to the road again and we made our trek back home. It was nothing short of an interesting weekend.
So... I was in the Car listening to a talk show, which never happens! Anyways, One of the people said. (Not a direct quote) "Our parents, and our parents, parents settled for a hollow American dream."
I came to ponder this for a while and I came up with an answer. I completely and TOTALLY disagree with this guy. Our parents have settled for their American dream. Is there truly a set American dream? Really? because I feel like the American dream has changed. So what if in this time that the American life has evolved the American dream has changed. That what we find fulfilling and wonderful is something that was unattainable at the time, but by their American dreams that they fulfilled that they made ours reachable. I hate thinking that it was something hollow that this nation was settled on. We all have our variation of what our American dream is.
I have been searching for jobs here and I had an interview I thought that I had it in the bag... I am guessing not... Seeing how I never attained the phone call that was said to have happened on Friday... Oh well. Guess it was not meant to be. So... Now it is to find another place that will hire me... Hope I find one soon!
Kyle and I have a plead for anyone who reads this... AS MUCH as we love the fact that we don't get bills and notices, BUT we DON'T get LOVE MAIL!!! We will send love mail back to whoever sends up love mail.. It would give us something to look forward to being so far away from family and friends. Just a nice piece of awesomeness.
I have also been doing some more planning on the wedding. It is a lot of things that I don't really have a choice on. Until I really see it into action. BUT I have awesome ideas. :] That is for tomorrows post. :] Need some feed back!!
